Bee in the tree hydrangea

At least I think that this insect is a bee? I photographed in our back garden at lunchtime today.

Normal service has resumed chez hazelh. I jumped out of bed just after 6:00am for a day that included an hour on the exercise bike, writing thank you letters, walking to the gym and back, taking part in a pilates class and going for a swim, making a big donation to the Bethany Christian Trust, a walk up to the Edinburgh Bargain Stores to buy mothballs, preparing gnocchi for supper, watering the plants, joining some of the neighbours for Friendly Friday, ringing Mummy hazelh, and blipping.

Exercise today: 1 hour on the exercise bike; pilates; swim (30 lengths); walking (~22,000 steps).
