Buzzing

I missed the sunshine photo opportunity in the garden again. I wonder why I do that so often...

But just as I was supposed to be sitting down to tea with the family, I dashed outside with my camera when I saw bumble bees on the broad bean plants. Unfortunately those particular photos are too dark, but very similar to broad bean flowers (in shape not in colour) are these laburnum flowers - which are also loved by the bees. I believe it's because both are members of the pea family. We won't be eating the laburnum though... There was a lovely hummy buzz going on around me and I would have loved to have hung around a bit longer.

Spent most of the day doing room-getting ready stuff for my younger sister and her family to come and visit tomorrow. I also sorted through the latest washing instalment while watching Lion King with Tess.

We asked Gemma if she would tidy up the conservatory with Tess. The room is used as a playroom-slash-dumping ground and is usually pretty disgusting.

Gemma actually did it!* I was pretty impressed - and highly amused as I listened to the things she was saying to Tess: "why is there a rock in a lunch box?!"
"What ARE all these little bits and pieces?!"
and when Tess asked why Gemma was making her help, Gemma replied "Well, you made all this mess. You should tidy it up!"

She sounded just like me.

When Gemma was Tess's age she stood at the top of the stairs, with her hands on her hips and yelled, "Other mothers tidy their daughters bedrooms!!"

Yeah, thanks, "other mothers". Thanks for your support. Thanks a lot.
