On the Common
After a bacon buttie breakfast at the Terrace Cafe, it was a day of sorting out the workshop for MrM, and a day of cleaning in the flat for me. I took a short break to visit Jacqui and Fletch (who barked a very enthusiastic welcome!).
A meal at the Black Bull in the evening followed by a drive up to the Common where we just walked around the main track. Since we moved to Wooler 8 years ago I've taken lots of photos on Wooler Common, and tagged them on Blipfoto, so there's now a whole collection, most of them mine. Very sad to think that, now we've moved, we're unlikely to go back there very often, if ever. It's a lovely place to walk, and to follow the passing of the seasons. Always something new to see. Couldn't resist posting more than one photo today - as well as the may flowers there were lots of foxgloves, cow parsley, tiny flowers on the spindle tree, and an abundance of beech masts. We were lucky enough to see a red squirrel in the distance and, on the way back down the hill, a barn owl.
Then a couple more hours of cleaning and sorting before bed - camping out in the spare room.
