Olive blossom

As the wet weather appears to come to an end and high pressure from North Africa signals it approach the olive trees are moving into full bloom. This is seven year old tree planted after its first year.

The big emerald beetles are much in evidence having a particular penchant for white roses.

I picked one up yesterday from behind a mosquito screen. They feel like polished pebbles. I lobbed it up into the sky from the balcony and at the zenith of its trajectory it cracked its wings open and flew away into the gathering storm.
