South Queensferry

Early start as I had my annual mammogram at BGH this morning. My sister offered to keep my company and then I think regretted it when we had a near miss with a farmer on his quad bike (his fault not mine). Lunch and then off to the airport as our guests were flying to Pisa. We dropped them off at about 3pm and then rather than go home, as we were due to pick up son no 3 at 9pm, we decided to visit South Queensferry. We had fab fish and chips (Maurizio’s) overlooking the bridge in hot sunshine. So far so good but then it all went a bit pear shaped. We picked up no 3 son after a short delay and then had to go back to the airport for my sister and brother in law as their flight was affected by the storms down south, it was delayed and then cancelled! They’re now rebooked to go out to Italy next Monday instead. To make matters worse, our car kept making a horrible clanging sound on the journey home. We’re all back in Peebles now but Mr P and I have to leave very early in the morning for his art retreat/workshop in Northumberland. I hope the car gets us there. I think I’ll be at the garage while he’s at his course. I’ll catch up with other journals tomorrow as need to get some shut eye. What a day!
