Letters
We are so pleased that N’s mother kept all the letters we sent from our time in Nairobi in the 197os. Every so often I get them out and read about the time we spent there with our children Anna and Jeremy, seven and five. I guess Nairobi is a very different place now than it was in those days. Looking at modern maps I can see that it has grown into a sprawling city from the compact town that we knew. The stories of our trips to the game parks are entertaining with the children quite blasé about seeing the lions and elephants. Some of the letters are from the children to their grandparents.
The letters are in a shoe box once containing Clark’s children’s sandals priced at £2.55.
Back home it feels quite tropical as we have another very hot day. I am finding it quite wearing.
