ready for lunch

It has been a very muggy day with plenty of cloud. It was pleasant enough for lunch in the garden. There were a few spots of rain mid afternoon and it is still very hot and heavy so I wouldn’t be surprised if we have more rain. The garden needs it.
I needed to refer to the letters I wrote home when we lived in Nairobi, 1972-74, and once I started reading them, I couldn’t stop! Anna and Jeremy were seven and five at the time. The letters I wrote home to Norman’s parents were carefully kept in their envelopes in a shoe box and it is some time since I have looked at them. Today I read some of them aloud to Norman, and we were happy to relive about not only our life in Nairobi but also stories about our children at that age. I relayed to their grandparents their lives in their new country. There were also letters the children themselves had written to their grandparents . Today we have only read about the first few months of our stay in Nairobi, so there is more to look forward to.
