Ponte Vecchio, Florence

This morning we left Rome by train for Florence. I’d somehow managed to book Business Class tickets at a cheaper rate than the Standard fare when I booked months ago so we enjoyed the comforts of leather seats and a complimentary breakfast as we sped through beautiful Tuscan scenery (see extras)

We were at our hotel by lunchtime so wandered down to the square that houses the San Lorenzo market for a bite to eat, then down past the Duomo, the Palazzo Vecchio and the Uffizi for the main blip of the Ponte Vecchio.

This evening we enjoyed a drink in a local bar before dinner back down at San Lorenzo Market Square and an evening amble around the Duomo again (see extras) where we sat with a gelato.
