Dharma Gates Open Endlessly

Our trip is winding down…we are still in Bologna, but in one week we will be home! Hard to imagine. A pleasant Sunday morning stroll, winding in and out of streets on a treasure hunt to find Mermaids. Mermaids as knockers, statues, on facades (the extra is one of them). Sunday mornings are quiet — none of the rushing work traffic, just folks going to church or the farmers market or the antique market. Sundays are all about church and families. The church bells ring for the morning masses. In the afternoon, the parks are filled with families strolling, biking, playing, picnicking. The Blip is Oseletti tower as seen through Porta Maggiore. The tower was built by the Oseletti family in the 12th century. It was originally 70 meters (!) but has since been reduced to a much safer (and less pretentious) 31 meters.
