Where Did The River Go?

Back in the Lakes for a couple of weeks.  This week we are tourists but next week we are joined by our Ramblers Group and I am leading a couple of walks.
This is the River Derwent just outside Rosthwaite.  We were walking with an ex RAF friend of mine and his wife, a flat route from Rosthwaite back to Keswick up the west side of Derentwater.  I was shocked to see how little water there was in this part of the river.  In March when we were here it was a torrent! 

It was a very hot but pleasant walk, followed up by an evening meal in a local pub.
