Journey's End
We finally arrived at our journeys end at Lindisfarne Priory. We walked from our overnight accommodation near Fenwick, to the island across the causeway. We had planned to cross via the Pilgrim's Route following poles in the sand. It is a more direct route but the tide was only just receding and there appeared to be a great deal of lying water in some of the channels channels which cris-cross the trail.
After a coffee we walked around the island, which was the best bit of the whole day!
It has been a really enjoyable walk and we have met some lovely people en route. one of the advantages of point to point walking. Our next adventure is a return to the Lake District in June where I am leading a couple of walks.
Back-blipped from Wednesday 24 May . Reason - woeful upload speed at our overnight accommodation in Berwick, the image refused to load. We had the same problem with FB!
