The Long Jump

Visit to the Sculpture Garden at Birtley House this afternoon, a temporary and free exhibition of around 250 sculptures, all for sale. It rained. But a lovely spot to display the work with lots of different areas including parkland, orchard and smaller gardens such as the rose garden.

The Long Jump by MichelleCastles appealed to me, a clever series of jumps in wire mesh, displaying a great sense of motion. An edition of 11, so not unique, and yours for a mere £8,000. Had the jumpers been life size, might have been very impressive indeed.

Better in large if you can be bothered.
