a shady character

This is the sensible way to behave on a very hot day.

I did my fair share of sitting in the shade with my book, but the mowing needed doing eventually. Only half an hour after I'd finished, and had a bath to wash off all the sweat and soak my muscles, it RAINED! Such a novelty that D and I went out and stood in it. I was able to use one of my favourite words to describe one of my favourite scents - Petrichor - the smell of dry earth after rain. 

The rain only lasted for about 10 minutes. It's still hot out there now, past 8pm.
