Typical

I read that  this island is typified by white buildings with green shutters and hollyhocks, so here is a picture of all three, at Ars en Re.
We’ve had a lovely day riding round the western end of the island . Stopped for coffee in a market square.I so envy the French and their lovely markets of fresh produce. 
After that we cycled around the salt pans which were pretty smelly actually. Saw lots of birds. Avocets, gulls, herons, egrets, and a tall bird with a long beak. A stilt? Anyway lots to see for birdwatchers.
LooseCanon has bashed his ankle on his pedal so had a bit of a rest while I cycled to the beach and some little boutique shops nearby where I bought a small container of local salt as ours had gone damp. A quick beer and we’re about to eat.
