A trip across the water
Another trip to the optician meant yet another venture to the mainland, a bit of a chancy business these days with the state of the CalMac ferry fleet. Would the ferry be sailing, or not? Fortune was on our side, although the smaller ferry was cancelled for essential repairs the Isle of Mull which I had booked was sailing today. After sorting out Nick’s glasses we wandered along the prom in the sunshine, had an iced coffee, and later an ice cream (gooseberry and elderflower, yum). My main shows just a few of the boats that were tied up at the crowded pontoons. Two black guillemots were enjoying the peace of the water between the pontoons and the shore and one posed beautifully for me, showing off a lovely red leg (extra). Once back home we collected Bertie who had enjoyed a fun day with the lovely Lucy and her humans.
