Moody Urban Miranda!

Here is Miranda looking mean and moody in her urban environment.

Decided to take the "shorter" way to the coalface today. Went out for an early morning run this morning and my plan had been to run some easy slow miles but foolishly put headphones in my ear with I playlist of almost exclusively RPM tracks. I ended up doing 8 miles at an average pace of 8'25". I have had a wee shift in my mindset with the running and today was the first run of many training runs leading up to the Great Scottish Run in October. It is a half marathon distance. I find having an event in mind for which I am training is quite motivating and certainly pushed me out of bed and out of the door. My running partner is still recovering from his exertions of Marathon running at the weekend. We had planned to head out together but I got a wee message when I got up saying that he was resting a bit longer. I did briefly consider going back to bed given that it was 0415 but decided against it, the dog was already expecting a walk and wouldn't have allowed me to go back to sleep. It was quite liberating to be out running with no real route planned. I added a few wee nice hills. Must say that I prefer running with my buddy but at the same time it was good to get a couple of solo runs this week under my belt.

Off to the hospital with daughter number 2 first thing tomorrow morning so they can have a wee look at how her hips are doing. Last time we went it was too early to tell if the months spent in the von Rosen splint have been successful meaning that no further intervention is required. I've been trying not to think about it all week but it has been a wee niggle in the back of my mind. Really hope for good news and I am remaining positive. She is a wee holly terror and is up and about on her feet and walking about with the help of her elder sister's toy pram and her own wee baby stroller. She was doing a bit of hand clapping and balancing on her feet last night so I think it is all good in the hood. Daughter number 1 didn't start walking until she was about 15 months so number 2 is already way ahead.
