Eggs from the farm and flowers on my table

We took J to Canterbury, for an appointment with the communication and assistive technology team: the mounting system for her communication aid was removed from her old wheelchair, but the wheelchair service staff told us they were not allowed to install it on the new one. They are a lovely, helpful and friendly team, though the system with which we returned home will need some tweaking at a further appointment. A detour round the lanes took us past the farm gate where we often buy eggs, and I thought they were particularly attractive, with one pretty blue-green and one perfect white egg contrasting with the big, shiny brown ones.

The flowers are the trimmed down remains of a birthday bouquet combined with some pretty grass I "weeded" from pots on the deck - I like it, but it self seeds everywhere - and some other garden wildflowers. I resolved at the start of the year to make a habit of bringing in flowers or foliage from the garden for the table, and have enjoyed lots of different weeds, pruned twigs and cut flowers as the seasons change.
