Beauty's Glance

We both spent the morning gardening - pruning trees, moving compost, strimming, watering, weeding. There was a moment towards the end, when I had the sprinkler on (can you see the spray?), I was getting wet moving it, and then a very light rain fell for a few moments, and it all suddenly seemed so beautiful. You can see in the gaps how dry it is all around us, but our garden is an oasis of greenery.

What is this life if, full of care
we have no time to stand and stare?...

No time to turn at Beauty's glance
And watch her feet, how they can dance...

Then run inside to get our camera
so we can share the moment on Blip.

(with apologies to WH Davies)

Ended up having a shower and washing my hair outside, actually got quite cold. It's very dry, but often a lot of strong wind, when it cools off for a bit.

Gratefuls:
- moments when beauty penetrates my dullness
- shopping for all the food we'll need for Saturday
- picking about forty almost ripe figs (to try to beat the magpies); going to make Jamie Oliver's crostata di fichi
