Oxford to London
This is another late posting.
We didn’t go for a walk this morning because it was cold and I am developing a head cold. Instead I cleared off some emails and messages, then we showered, changed and had breakfast. After breakfast we packed our bags, not that that takes very long, and spent some time chatting with our hosts until it was time to go to the station to catch the train to London. The train was on time and in just over an hour we arrived at London Marylebone, which brought back lots of memories as I lived nearby for a while and used the station regularly. We caught a Bakerloo Line train to London Waterloo, which brought back lots more memories. We had time for a sandwich and a coffee before catching the train to Teddington. We walked to our hosts’ house and were warmly welcomed with coffee and cake, although we passed on the cake as we’ve been eating too much while we’ve been travelling. After coffee we went for a walk in Bushy Park and were greeted by a herd of deer. It was a familiar sight when we lived nearby. After our walk the four of us returned home and had a delicious supper and a nice bottle of wine, with lots of talking about old times. It was a very late night.
Apologies, I am still way behind dipping into blippers’ journals. I’ll catch up as and when I can.
The blip shows Oxford Parkway Station, London Marylebone Station, London Waterloo Station, the deer in Bushy Park and a beautiful stained glass doorway in our hosts’ house.
