Protestante Prolongada*

Back strolling with Apollo today and went and had a chat with this fine fellow, called Rodolfo.

He's part of a group of locals who have been protesting for the last 3 years against proposed development of the local park into offices and apartments.

It was very hard for me to follow exactly what he was saying, but I did get the gist of what he was saying. It's the usual tale of corrupt local politicians and greedy developers wanting to ride roughshod over the wishes and rights of the local (and fairly poor) community.

They must be doing something right to have lasted this long. I hope they have lots of further success and hang on to their lovely park.

The sign is asking passers-by to play their part by donating coffee, sugar, biscuits and cakes! I may just do that next time I'm passing by.
