The Eagle has Landed

I left an Edinburgh in brilliant sunshine to fly up to Orkney under a clear sky and it was so interesting to look at the terrain below.
 I just wish I knew the names of all the little villages I saw far beneath me. 
It wasn’t until we crossed the Pentland Firth that the cloud really became thick. It was then that I thought my Dry Robe didn’t appear to be  quite such a ridiculous garment to wear for the journey
My 5* Cheeky Monkey Taxi service  met me at Kirkwall airport and transported me through to Stromness. No money has changed hands at this point but the tab is running.
 
Now that I have unpacked and been out to buy enough provisions to keep body and soul together for the weekend I can relax and admire the passing trade on Hamnavoe outside my window. It’s a very different view from the one over the railings at home.
