Busy, Busy, Busy

A relaxed morning today - no hirpling up to Sainsbury’s to tax the ankle. No it was foot up on the coffee table waiting for the start of the Jubilee service at St Paul’s. With the congregation starting to assemble at 9am and the start time of 11:15am and with very many of them in advancing years I am very curious as to the toilet facilities they had when having to wait so long. One never sees much coming and going from the serried ranks.

LeeAnne appeared at midday to save me from too much immersion in the Platty Joobs and we went for bacon butties at Starbucks as you do on high days and holidays.

In the afternoon, I was quizzed by two people from the Scottish Government’s health survey team about my life style. It seemed to focus largely on my drinking, time spent looking at screens and exercise. Since most of this was in regard to the last 4 weeks when I have not being drinking or doing anything more strenuous than sitting with my foot up, I doubt my answers will not be relevant to the cause. However they did increasemy height by 1/2” over the latest WGH reading but my weight included my moon boot that weighs half a ton. I didn’t enquire about the reading. (They did indeed have a set of scales with them and a height measuring apparatus. You couldn’t make it up!)

During all this researching daughter#2 and two grandkids appeared with ice creams and new ankle dressings for me. Unfortunately they had to be turned away but hopefully will come back.
