It's All About The Kraken

Recently I've taken quite a few shots from a post pint walk on the way home for our local pub, The Chequers in Aylesford. So today I thought I would try something different and take an in-pub image! This is the view from the outside terrace towards our village's medieval bridge.
My eye was originally caught by the line of gin bottles with their accompanying wooden spoons indicating the table numbers (for al fresco dining they now want you to use a QR code) which looked somewhat incongruous against the backdrop of the bridge.
In particular I was drawn to the design of The Kraken black spiced rum bottle in the foreground.
The Kraken is a legendary sea monster of enormous size said to appear off the coasts of Norway and was the subject of sailors' superstitions and myths. It was first described in the modern era in a travelogue by Franceso Negri in 1700. The largest ever shipment of Caribbean spiced rum was said to have been brought down by the Kraken and the rum was subsequently named in its honour.
