Pyracantha

At least it was.

For the past nearly twenty years we have had a lovely Fire Thorne bush under the living room window.  When we moved in it was nearly a foot below the windowsill.  It’s been a refuge for the birds, and a brilliant feeding platform.

These last couple or so years it has been up to windowsill height, and this year the wood is so prominent that when the bush is trimmed all you have left is wood.  Either that or have the bush an inch or more above the windowsill.

So today, drastic action.  The bush has been as good as coppiced and let’s see how/if it recovers  – it should do it’s a healthy plant.

This of course means that this poor old f*** is k*******.  He is also full of pyracantha thorn holes, and I’ve got the red blotches to go with them.

I do have a flower for Friday, but it’s at extra ’cause I took the shot yesterday.
