Brantôme

We went on a wee overnight sojourn to Bourdeilles near the Perigordian town of Brantôme, which is a popular location for tourists.  The town is beautiful.  We stayed in a nice little hotel "le Griffon" in nearby Bourdeilles (extra).  The hotel served great food, but having eaten quite a bit at lunch, we dined only on starter and cheese plate.  Mind you, we were also treated to two amuse bouche and an extra after dessert. Lovely one nighter and we came home the day after for lunch and a dip in the pool. Tonight there was a serious car accident right outside our house (extra2).  The rescue services were amazing, using cutting devices to peel off the roof and break open the doors. The driver was eventually extracted. She was treated for some time in the ambulance before it took her off to hospital. Our thoughts are with her. We feel blessed.
