Kisdon Hill Primroses
No late May holiday this year due to N0 2 son's exam revision so we have allowed ourselves a two day break in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. It has been a good few years since we visited Swaledale for the Primroses on the Pennine Way path on Kisdon Hill. The hillside is covered in pale yellow spots of colour and is an unmissable sight. We failed to beat the rain advancing from west but did have the worst of it on our backs for the latter part of our walk. We were too early for the traditional hay meadows in Upper Swaledale. Tea and Fruit cake with chunk of Wensleydale cheese at the end of our walk for a treat. Fruit cake and cheese is a strange Yorkshire Tradition along with Apple Pie and cheese.
