Aughton Woods Bluebells

Time for our annual Bluebell fest this weekend. Everything is so late this year it has screwed up all our walk schedule. Should really have been here last weekend but the poor weather put the mockers on it. Anyway Aughton Woods (pronoun Afton) is the finest Bluebell Wood in the North West of England. The SSSI woodland is a cool blue at present. We did our normal figure of eight walk, small loop, down the River Lune back to our carpark where we indulged in Bacon and Egg butties as treat from Woodies snack shack then completed the large loop thru the woods in the afternoon. Pied Flycatcher and Wood Warbler singing in the woods. The Bluebells hue changes in bright light and can be difficult to capture.
