Quaker Ladies

I have a lovely stand of wee Quaker Ladies in the corner of my yard.  They are also known as Bluets, Little Washerwoman, Venus's Pride, Little Innocents, and Eyebright.  They have medicinal value in reducing fever and cleansing blood among other things.  Bob is coming to mow this morning and I must tell him not to run over this patch in the corner of the yard near the old sheep shed.  They like acid soil and shade and do well there amongst the moss.  The wee charmers are lovely "volunteers" in the yard, and I encourage them to spread to their heart's delight. Gift#150: garden volunteers.
