Roof Terrace Gin and Tonic
After finishing off my marking of the advanced pen and paper tests and pressing ‘send’ ::-) I met Bb round the corner for a quick mid-morning coffee - something we couldn’t do if we worked in schools or offices. He’d walked out to stretch his legs. After a wee bit of emailing re our flat in Edinburgh (new tenants found, yay!), I swept the front part of our roof terrace, moving all the plants pots and furniture, and wiped all the furniture. At the end of the day, we decided that it was gin and tonic-ready and so Bb picked a lemon from the patio tree and made gin and tonics. Lovely to sit up there at the end of the working day, early evening, and enjoy them. Our area really is quite quiet, considering how well connected we are. I’m sure the gin and tonics were even more delicious because of our own lemon!
The small piece of marble that the G and Ts are on: we found in the street a couple of years ago. Bb carried it home - heavy!! And we put it on a little iron table base that we already had. Voila! It had a couple of chips round the edges, but we filed them down and they add to its story.
