Wren
Kim and her family arrived home safely last evening at 6:00 pm. They brought Mexican carry out meals of our choice and genuine NY bagels to say thanks. Mancil went upstairs right away to get the needed supplies to clean and wrap Trek’s cut. He and Kim were very appreciative of all the work I did ( hubby as well). He could not believe how organized the medical stuff was stored and labeled. Score for Gram. We went home and this morning, we were up by 6 am. Hubby left to participate in the Memorial Day Mass and service at the local archdiocesan cemetery. The names of the 425 folks who’d been laid to rest in our local Catholic cemeteries in the last year were read. I decided to prepare a nice picnic for the holiday: burgers and brats on the grill, potato salad, slaw and baked beans. That took up my morning while hubby was gone. There were a lot of different birds at the feeders including this tiny melodious wren. I chatted with my mother. Sounds like our sister fell on Friday and broke several bones in her foot/ankle. Momma is still congested so she didn’t want me to take her to the hospital to see our sister. It must have been really swollen because they did not set it until today. Sure hope it heals quickly and correctly. Hubby raised the flag back to full staff at noon to honor the fallen. I did a bit of laundry and general housework before sitting down to read with hubby and Millie. We’ll end the holiday weekend with apple pie and ice cream. Easy peasy. Sure hope you had a fine weekend. Thanks for all the hearts, stars and nice comments. Stay safe. “Glory, glory, said the Bee, Hallelujah, said the Flea. Praise the Lord, remarked the Wren. At springtime all is born-again.” - Eric Metaxas
