Winner

Carnival today in town and what a glorious day it was ; it started with the parade of floats , both mechanised and walking. The theme was “summer holiday “ and Pershore Abbey used the motto ‘ wish you were here’ with people dressed in costumes appropriate to holiday destinations. We had Hawaii , Spain, and Italy amongst others ( with two people in a cardboard gondola for the latter) but here you have our wonderful CanonClaire representing France. We found out later we’d won best walking float! Hoorah.

R was on the Phoenix Dragon boat stand trying to recruit most of the day, with limited success. I also watched our friends with their dog in the dog show,and heard my friend sing in her choir, but spent the afternoon in the abbey ‘ tea room’ which was fun.

All in all an excellent day: the weather was good and the huge crowds seemed to be having fun.
