The Anglo Saxon Village
Today was rainy day so we decided not to drive to the coast. Instead we visited the Anglo Saxon village at West Stow, north of Bury St Edmunds in Suffolk. We have a ticket to visit this place all year so we have been there a few times. We are never tired of this nice place .
They were excavactiones in 1960 and 1970 . The archeologists found this village which was reconstruted with wood and show how the houses were and give us the idea how the village must have looked. There is a museum as well showing the objects found in the excavations ..
We also enjoyed walking around this area, by the river, in the forest , by the lake , farms and natural park. It is a nice place to take pictures of landscapes and enjoy the nature .
There was a little rain in the afternoon but at least I had enough time to take a few pictures before started raining.. The grey doesn't help a lot for the pics but still I enjoyed taking it. This is typical English weather so maybe made it more interesting.
I hope you enjoy the village . It is not the best pic but is the one show you more little wood cottages . In the weekends they wear a traditional medieval dress .
Have a good day.
Thanks once again for the kind comments, hearts and stars. Also for sharing your nice pics which I enjoyed so much.
