Lodgepole Pine

Indigenous to western North America, where it was a favourite source of timber for Native Americans, who used it mainly to build lodgepoles.
We walked in Shell Bay wood this morning. It was dry, but overcast and more people out walking than we usually see. Probably due to the bank holiday. We say one grey squirrel and one red with a particularly bushy tail. He ran up a tree and sat there watching us and twitching his tail. We also saw a roe deer on the grass at the side of the wood. He had been lying in the grass, and rose a bit startled and stared at us before running away.
In extras I’ve put a portrait of my poser, and a small red flower that I spotted in the wood. I can’t identify it so if anyone has any ideas they would be welcome.
The afternoon has been spent on puzzles and reading, then watering the garden.
