Out with Mother

Early this morning we went on a RSPB walk at Lakeside Country Park, near Eastleigh. We heard/saw 30 bird species. There were a number of  fledgling birds being fed by their harassed parents including a family of long tailed tits flitting all around us.
We found this family of Greylag geese on the edge of the lake with the parents being very protective of their goslings, unsurprisingly, as there were half a dozen humans also swimming in the lake!
Back home, we finally planted out the sweet pea plants. It felt very late and, in fact, this time last year, I had already picked the first sweet pea flowers.
This afternoon I visited my Mother, and we watched more baby birds and their parents in the garden at the care home.
