Better Late Than Never...
Behold the sun! Like, wow! I thought we'd never see the day...a bit late for us, but still - wonderful to finally have a summer-like day, and time to bask in it!
This is the day before we have to seriously pack and clean for our departure, so we have been doing a few of those chores, but are still taking time to enjoy the day.
One of the highlights has been watching farming in action...We are surrounded by fields and today, a tractor appeared with a scary looking attachment, drove right by your patio, down an overgrown lane beyond us and started cutting the hay fields behind us...Now, for city folks like us, that was exciting...We anxiously await the next step this haying thing and hope it takes place tomorrow before we leave....
The other highlight has been the enthusiasm evident in emails from my friend Mary who has just arrived in Edinburgh! She is enthralled with the city and her emails and photos are a joy to receive. She is about to embark on a knitting tour to the Shetland Islands and is giving herself a day or two in Edinburg to adjust to the time change and rest up. So far, she is making the most of every minute there! Her emails, and postings on Blip from folks in Scotland are a reminder that Scotland must be on my next trip's itinerary!
So, we are now at the One More Day stage of this trip segment..we spent some time today reminiscing about all the things we have seen and done and have started focusing on what is next..Two weeks in Toulouse...a city we have visited many times, but we think there will be lots more to see and do, given the amount of time we will have. (Fingers crossed for some sunshine!)
