Everyday I Write The Book

The YAH festival

Well it is a bit middle class. But not in a yuppy way, more an ageing Guardian readership way (who moi?).

Good journey down. Very good in fact. Stopped over for lunch in a Bristol shopping centre. Accommodation lovely apart from a slightly lumpy mattress.

Saw Alastair Campbell and Rafael Behr in conversation about the state of British politics. Great session. As it was Alistair Campbell's 66th birthday the entire audience sang happy birthday to him and they bought out a very small cake which he donated to a nine year old girl in the front row. She had  asked a very good question about whether politics should be taught in primary schools. Check this out if you want to know more.

Had tapas in Hay,' best pub.

Even managed a facetime with TGR who has now walked 260 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail - that's 10% of the total she has to complete!

Great day.
