Feeding Time

There was a racket under the feeders early doors and Tony counted eight young starlings being fed in a whole flock of birds.  There was evidence of weaning off going on, with some of the youngsters eventually doing their own food finding on the ground and on the feeders.  Other juveniles were perched in the tree squawking to be fed.  The starlings were back this evening but with fewer youngsters so I guess some will now be independent.

Friend Helen arrived late morning and we drove to Ilkley to walk with friend Verity on the moors.  Back home I rested up awhile before heading out with the Hobblers for a run along the canal.
