Another recce

The best of walks, solitary and sunny along the Union Canal. The plan is to walk its entire length with Glasgow Ramblers over the next few weeks. This first stage between Falkirk and Linlithgow is straightforward, other than the tunnel which today was quite slippy and damp, and the scary but safe walk across the Avon Aqueduct, the longest in Scotland.
I discovered a serviceable coffee spot and an excellent lunch spot, main blip, both of which I hadn’t noticed when I did the walk with friends a few weeks ago.
The extra is the very green entrance to the Falkirk Tunnel.
Plenty of quiet opportunities to use my Merlin bird song app which told me there was a goldfinch and a black cap nearby, I couldn’t see them but it was nice to know they were there, possibly.
