Another cool, damp
day for us - but soon the heat
will be back again

I had a special delivery to make this morning, so breakfast was at home. I was out the door just after 9 heading for M's house. 

I had found fabric panels of beautifully painted horses by the American artist, Marcia Baldwin. As soon as I saw them I knew they had to be made into a quilt for M. As a rancher, horse trainer and painter, she would love these.  

M was very pleased with her quilt. She said no one has made her a quilt before. I apologized that it was a belated birthday gift. It really should have be ready on time for her 80th birthday last January. 

I took a walk around her yard with my camera. She often has horses grazing on three sides of her yard. Even days when it's not so good to be outside painting, she can find a suitable subject from her kitchen window.

I toured all her hand-made yard ornaments. She has fashioned mobiles from old horse shoes, farm implements and even from her late husband's cowboy boots. Birds love to come into her yard.

We had a lovely visit in her kitchen, then I was off to get groceries and head home. 

I'm in for the day giving my sore feet a rest.
