Ramblings and Mutterings

Experience

A nice lie in.

Did a bit more work in the morning.

As I've got to visit our latest company tomorrow, I had to travel down to the south east today,  The roads were fine, if busy.

I got to my hotel at 7pm, checked in and booked a table for the Beefeater next do at 7:15pm.  Arrived on time, waitresses and managers were frequently walking past, but nobody acknowledged me and I had to wait for 10 minutes for someone to finally escort me to a table.

Waited five minutes for my order to be taken.  I ordered a pint of coke, some chicken wings with hot sauce, garlic bread and some chips.  Twenty minutes went by, no sign of my drink or food, so I asked for an update from the waitress.  She went off to sort it, barman came with a coke, I didn't really look at it at the time he dropped it off, but it was a small glass.  Food eventually arrived, chicken wings with BBQ sauce and garlic bread.  No sign of my chips, I thought she was going to go back with them.  So started eating, couldn't be bothered to complain about the mess up with the sauce.  A further ten minutes go by before I can speak to the waitress again, and asked her if my drink was a pint, she said no and went off to rectify it.  I also chased the chips up and she went to sort that.  The chips eventually arrived but by this time I had eaten most of the chicken and garlic bread.  My experience wasn't an isolated one, as I could hear other diners experiencing problems.  Probably the worst experience dining out I've ever had.

A few doors down from me, this was outside one of the rooms.  Clearly they realised it was better to bring your own.  LOL!

Who knew a night in Stevenage would be so eventful?

Today I am thankful for:

1.  A lie in
