The Visit

Strange how some days evolve in ways I wouldn’t have expected. I was looking forward to a coffee with an old cycling friend who was eager to tell me tales of his recent Italian holiday and I also knew that there was somebody coming to give me an estimate for shutters for the study window (Behind THE DOOR  for those blippers old enough to remember the tales thereof) but I hadn’t expected a phone call after lunch telling me that the Glasgow family would like to pay a visit later in the afternoon. They were in town to get a German passport renewed for Nina who has dual Nationalty because of her paternal German Grandmother.

The sun appeared with the news and their subsequent arrival and we sat outside and whiled away what was left of the afternoon before deciding we would go to Söderberg for Pizzas. It was so lovely to see them all together and a jolly time was had by everyone. Nina and Ewan are such good company.

They have left now and the house has returned to being very quiet
