City Life
Over the 13years of having a home bang in the centre of Edinburgh, the designated best city in which to live in the UK, I have provided you with a comprehensive list of the cons for us the residents. The main one being the volume of people, mostly tourists clogging the streets and Airbnbs.
However today I can provide you with one of the pros and there several of them too. Having found myself blipless at 2pm, I went for a stravaig in a circle of small diameter round the Dower House and managed to get a surfeit of possible blips. OK there was much side stepping and waiting for the interminable tour groups to make their way past me but there at the junction of the Grassmarket and West Bow was this little oasis of tranquility ,The West Bow Garden. It’s small and on a steep slope , but with the maelstrom of the Grassmarket yards away it looked so green and peaceful that it deserves to be my blip today.
Job done and back home through a fine mizzle carried on a NE wind and crowds of happed up people licking ice creams. Tourists, a hardy bunch!
