My neighbor has been adopted by a fox. She walks her dog and realized a fox was following her. The fox comes to her window and last night barked to her!
We have a rabbit again. It isn't the same rabbit, it is smaller. It also does not eat heuchera. It waited until after crocus season to start visiting, which was thoughtful. We cannot figure out what it is eating and we hope it does not meet the fox.
I worried that my bird baths might encourage mosquitoes, but they are so shallow that they dry out frequently, so no problem.
I want to thank those who came before. My new friend commented that she is comfortable with public displays of affection with her girlfriends because she wasn't harassed in public. She recognizes that people my age and older were. I told her a couple of stories. I would like to thank everyone, including allies, who helped make things better.
I'm on my deck in the evening light, on the bench, surrounded by vegetation, listening to lots and lots of chirping. There aren't many mosquitoes out yet so this is the time to be here.

The train derailment on Thursday in Crimea that Russia blamed on "outsiders" has resulted in rail traffic being suspended. This has disrupted supplies of weaponry.
A little girl who lost her legs in a Russian bombing has been helped by the Shriners in the US. Hospitals in Ukraine as overstressed. The Ukraine Embassy and Ukraine House, a non-profit founded by the First Lady of Ukraine that used to do cultural things and now does fundraising,
helped the family get to the US. They launched a prosthetics program. She got bright pink prosthetics. She hopped up and took off. In six weeks she re-learned how to walk, run, and play basketball. In a year she'll come back for new ones as she grows. She's now seen the New England Aquarium in a wheelchair and running.
