International visitors

I took a break from gardening this afternoon to pop up to Dunblane to see their museum  which celebrates it’s 80th anniversary this year.

And I met volunteer guides Joan and Roy Anderson. (See photo).

Roy had just given a tour to a group of young people from Pennsylvania and I overheard him extolling the virtues of Glasgow over Edinburgh, “ It's the people, you know, they make Glasgow”.
But one young woman wrinkled up her nose, clearly unconvinced. At this point I feel obliged to butt in and say the guide is absolutely correct, having worked myself in both cities.

Today the museum had visitors from Korea, New Zealand, Australia and America as well as a sprinkling from Europe.

This gives Dunblane, during the summer months, a surprisingly cosmopolitan air.

This is most welcome since the museum is run entirely on volunteers and they are delighted to see the footfall return to almost pre- Covid levels.
