Humm-Bug

Our new feeder arrived today. It’s for the hummingbirds. We offer our speedy little friends sweet nectar for drinking but wanted to expand our offerings to include insects for protein • If you’re unfamiliar, here’s how it works: I’ve placed two bananas inside. Soon they’ll attract fruit flies and as long as I keep replacing the fruit the flies will continue to lay eggs producing more flies for the hummers to eat. At least that’s the theory. The reviews are mixed but the feeder makes sense to me and I’ll keep working at it to get it right. Fingers crossed it doesn’t turn into a Bah-Humbug! • Grocery shopping and a visit to the Cobbosseecontee Stream. We timed it right to see an osprey catch an alewife to bring home to his family, but no yellow warblers today • Happy Friday & Happy Weekend to you!
