Not a partridge in a pear tree..

.. but a Night Heron in an alder bush. It is not often that one fails to see a bird on Uist on account of the tree cover but this was one example. It had been seen walking into the bush and then not seen again for several hours. 
A big twitch in Uist terms with at least ten birders there, none seeing it - parking not ideal and will cause stress as some used passing places although the road remained unobstructed.
