Dotterel

It was quite a way away and the wind made holding the camera still are my two excuses for the poor quality of the image. That said it does capture the feel of seeing a Dotterel on Uist. 
They occur pretty well every year at traditional spots and Balranald, where this one was, is the most regular.
It was frustrating in the queue at the excellent Dunes Cabin there that the person in front of me ordered three prawn rolls finishing the supply of the aforementioned prawns and with the scallops already gone, I was reduced to a hot peat smoked and cream cheese roll.
