MAGPIES V SEAGULLS

Pottered around at home for most of the day doing a few chores including filling a charity bag.

Then at 5.45pm it was time to get the bus to Newcastle.  Newcastle United had a rescheduled home game against Brighton.  This game was originally due to be played in February but was postponed as Newcastle were at Wembley playing in the Final of the Carabao Cup.

Kick off tonight was 7.30pm.  Great atmosphere inside St James Park as usual with lots of noise and flags waving before kick off.  Newcastle needed to win to keep their Champions League hopes on track.

The first goal came on 22nd minute - an own goal by a Brighton player. Newcastle got a second just before the half time break - scorer was local lad Dan Burn. He was " chuffed to bits ".  Not long into the second half Brighton pulled a goal back,  So Newcastle fans were understandably nervous at this point in case Brighton equalised.  But they didn't..... in fact Newcastle scored two more goals. Final score Newcastle 4 Brighton 1.

To clinch their place in the Champions League  Newcastle need to win on Monday evening in their last home game of the season - they play Leicester.  Roll on Monday.  Howay The Lads.

Bus home came on time at around 10pm but it was only a single decker so it was jam packed.  All the  passengers were very happy Newcastle fans who sang and chanted their way home.

The Abstract Challenge today is " painterly abstract ".  My blip just had to be football related so I took a shot of the terraces full of Newcastle fans waving their flags and then did some faffing.  Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting.  Ive added an Extra - a painterly abstract selfie.

No time this evening to make many comments - hopefully I can catch up tomorrow
