Life through my eyes

All change

I wasn't happy at all about Mr T being under the stairs. I felt like he was being shoved out of the way as things are often shoved under the stairs. Also it was always going to be a lot of moving with transfer slings. I had been mulling this over for a while as part of the downstairs move so when Medequip came to move the chair I asked them to move the bed too. It's a tight fit but it is a lot nicer for him. He will have the morning light and I can come down and we can have coffee together. I told him not only can he have breakfast on the veranda he can have breakfast in bed on the veranda. It will all be better when the level access doors are installed as the lift can be outside. I will get some blinds for the former window and back door so he has his own room and privacy.

He did very well today with testing the new lift. They need to send smaller slings but other than that it's promising. I'm in the kitchen and he's settled really well now.

I also was asked last week to join a Carers UK round table with an NHS Assembly. Everyone else seemed to be experts but I was happy to make some good contributions. A report will be written for the 75th Anniversary of the NHS on 5th July of our suggestions to improve support for carers (of which a third of NHS staff are).

Jo came in to help, but Beau woke up so he came too. I was OK as the back doors were open. Mr T used to have dogs but he was quite uncertain of Beau (see extra). Beau on the other hand almost wagged his tail off. He's nuts and it was so funny watching him running and trying to stop on the hard flooring.

I'm off to bed now and will try and catch up with journals and comments over the weekend. I will try to do the same with Mr T too.
