Early morning thinking
Up in the woodland above the house there is, amongst the plantation firs, chestnuts, the sandy gorse area, and the other slightly random mix of plantings, , this group of oaks. I don’t know if they are ancient woodland but it is good to have this patch of large deciduous trees, there are hornbean and sycamores too but few beech as is more customary in the area. So also few bluebells except round the edges.
Anyway with brain racing early morning I was glad of the peace of the walk up here before work began. With the sky full of birdsong it was a good place to think things through
Many zooms throughout the day but in breaks I planted out cosmos and dahlias and watered the garden which is going to have to fend for itself when I’m in Scotland. V will water. And hopefully nature will water occasionally too.
Went over to Mum’s with new suitcase early evening and talked through our plan for tomorrow.
